Fooling around through the streets of Paris in Palazzos is pretty fun. This basket bag reminds me of last July, my first summer living in Paris – I bought it at a Flea Market with my Mom when she came to visit me for her birthday. My mother has taught me a lot of things – everything I know about fashion and fabrics came straight from her, but one of her most astute skills is vintage sourcing- from antiques to clothes to books, she is an absolute pro. I’d wanted a basket bag for so long but she discouraged me from buying the overpriced versions in the many boutiques we browsed. And then, amongst a pile of junk, she spotted this one for me, it was the perfect size, perfect colour and even, the perfect price (only 10 euros). And so every time I use this bag it makes me appreciate what she has taught me and what she is still yet to teach me, because as I get older, I’ve realized that you never stop learning from your parents and often, some of the most important skills and advice you inherit from them is when you are all grown up.
