So you’ve probably seen on instagram, I jumped over to the Canary Islands for a few days to experience their annual Swimwear Fashion Week. Now, FW in Paris usually means a lot of hard, not so glamorous work for me but this was an entirely different vibe. Instead of running around like a crazy lady, I was able to simply enjoy the shows as well as the beautiful resort we stayed at. Lydia (one of my fave bloggers who came too) and I got to hang out by the pools and even managed to get up at dawn to explore some of the more remote parts of the island. It was a fun few days! And with a smattering of new freckles on my face, a deeper tan and 4000 photos on my Canon 5D, I ‘m happy to have been able to experience the Canary Islands, a place that has been on my bucket list for a long time now. It was the perfect beginning to my summer adventure. And so here’s my round-up, some snapshots here and there of what we did, saw and enjoyed. The girls were beautiful, the men were hot – and the swimwear was fun – lots of loud summer music, beach balls and bright colours. The enthusiasm was infectious – and as a total warm weather lover, beach girl and sea preacher, I couldn’t help but feel happy to be spending so much time in Spain this year, but also, a sense of pride I can’t quite explain. While I am not Spanish, I’ve spent the majority of my life here, so it was great to see such an incredible event celebrating everything I love most about this country. Finally, the biggest thanks to Globally for inviting and hosting me, Pelayo and Silvia – you two were sensational. More to come from Gran Canaria, so don’t go anywhere!
