It’s been a whirlwind of a week, one of those 5 day stretches where my computer stays off and my laptop shut closed, instead working a few sporadic minutes here and there via iPhone. I have lots of stories to share, but today I will start with Saturday’s. The first day I could claim all to myself this week. I get up at 7 am now, never in my life would I believe I’d one day be an early bird, who knew all I needed was a puppy named Biba to kickstart this habit I’ve always secretly coveted. Getting up early elongates the day in a way I like. There is more time for a lot of things. Iced coffees, flowers from the florist down the street, I even managed to buy a new office chair.
And with more time came a wider leg – with which I came to two realisations, baggy trousers keep me cooler than shorts and I should probably invest in some nude underwear, as I have none. As a girl that wears a great deal of white in the warmer months, it is ridiculous that all my undergarments are garishly printed or solid black, simply too bold underneath floaty whites. But all in all, it was a Saturday that came after a sequences of work days, a sequence that has left me happy and proud. Quietly so, I feel accomplished, a sentiment that doesn’t come around often for me, but when it does, I make sure to cherish this little life I’ve sketched out for myself and all the tiny beautiful things that come with it.
