Perhaps you remember in January, I celebrated 2016 alongside Little Black Dress, indisputably my favourite formal-wear brand. On a cold winter night I literally set fire to the Barcelona streets in honour of New Year’s Eve, with sparklers, a glittery mask and one of their sweeping jet black dresses. They are still some of my favourite photos to date. I cannot believe that was now 6 months ago. 2016 has already filled double the pages any previous year has and it’s only half way through. Every week so far holds a dozen chapters that only seem to unfold further as time edges along. It’s been a real story this year, and so today, in the midst of a incredibly hot summer where I’m mostly in bikinis and clothes almost too casual for blogging, I spun things a little differently and ran around town in some of my favourite Little Black Dress pieces. From shopping to rose wine to a hotel rooftop, I wanted to incorporate these dresses into some of the fun real-life pursuits I look forward to every week. The LBD is so often associated with fancy events, but really, I think they look lovelier when worn more spontaneously ; on an evening that starts in the same place in the same way it always does, bare footed next to a pool or even simply an hour or two of shopping down a fancy street. I’ve never looked for a reason to wear anything, be it a verging-on-ridiculous size hat or a pair of heels almost too high to a slinky black dress. I hope you don’t save your clothes for something special, it seems quite pointless and sad to leave them lonely and listless hanging on the hope of a ‘one day’. Make today the one day, in fact when it comes to pretty clothes and just about everything else in life, live ‘one day’ today, everyday.
