Listening to Fleetwood Mac with the windows flung open, hauling ice cubes home for iced lattes, pink flowers that bloom so lavishly despite the heat, the hazy skyline of Barcelona from above, 7 am weekend walks with Biba where we watch the club-goers stumble home, an anthology of all white outfits against my increasingly sunkissed skin… these are all tiny things that feel very summery to me. Seasonal anecdotes I guess or tendencies that become rituals. It’s the season for Spain, really – and while the heat is undeniably oppressive, the lighthearted atmosphere of the city compensates for the heavy humidity. I am working hard, but enjoying life in all the quieter ways. And on early mornings like this one, surrounded by flowers and sleepy city views, with Biba staring at me as we shoot, life is good. This summer is wonderful. I hope yours is too.
