A coat as a dress; pulling on outerwear and not much else was the result of mental distraction. Sometimes I just fall absent, I have a way of mid conversation, dropping off into thought. It is highly infuriating for my friends. ‘Audrey? Audrey, are you listening?’ they’ll ask and I’ll nod my head but from somewhere faraway. I like to call it fading listening.  It is by far one of the most annoying things about me. And at times, this tendency surfaces in my wardrobe, I’ll throw on the most far flung ensembles purely because I’m thinking about something else entirely. So, when I wear a coat as a dress and it looks quite cool, I can’t take styling credit, it was a spontaneous choice made by my hands pulling things from hangers as my mind jumped somewhere else. I guess mentally dissappearing is an effective styling technique for me, perhaps you should try it too. Throw on whatever is in reach and see what happens.
