the trio I typically wear

You already know I wear glasses, I have since I was 12. I always find it funny when people on social media suggest I stop wearing them. As if they are an optional accessory, like the way earrings or a necklace are. This is hilarious to me, they aren’t like jewellery at all, because, well obviously, without them, I can’t see.  Vision aside, I prefer my face with them. My face is often stuck in a book and glasses go well with this look. You often ask what glasses I’m wearing, truth is I wear many pairs. I change them as often as my shoes. Recently however, I have developed a preference for tortoiseshell or as I like to call it; leopard print’s sophisticated sister. I have brown hair, eyes too and my lips are always the same matte honeylove (mac) shade, so tortoiseshell looks best on my face, or so I believe. And so, in an effort to share more of all sorts of thing on here, I thought I’d talk about my favourite glasses, the trio I typically always wear. Whether you wear them only sometimes or like me, most of the time – choosing the right frame is important. I hope I can inspire you to consider tortoiseshell. As a kid I wore a pair with purple zigzag lines above the frame that paired with my monobrow made my face chaotically cartoonish. I need to dig that pair out and show you on snapchat, I thought they were the coolest glasses ever which is worrying as they were the worst thing I think I have ever worn. I always show them to friends, ofcourse they ask me to put them on and even though I long ago abandoned the monobrow, they still look comically terrible. Anyway, enough of the child geek me, let’s move on to the adult geek me. Not much has changed except the discovery of tweezers and a more flattering decision in frames. Regardless, I hope my favourite glasses inspire you.

i prefer affordability

When it comes to glasses, I like to have options. I splurged on a few luxury pairs but my favourites are the slightly less expensive options. They are good quality but their affordability allows me to buy a few pairs for the price I would usually pay for just one. All the frames here are from Lensway – now before you roll your eyes, no I have not been compensated to feature the brand. I just genuinely recommend their frames as well as their lenses; robust acetate and with digital production glass, especially useful for a dork like me who spends hours editing photos. Basically they reduce the blue light emitted from computer/phone screens. Lensway glasses are between 30 and 100 GBP (pounds), which is refreshingly affordable. Those purple zigzag frames I wore as a kid? I saved up for those, they were hundreds of euros – how ridiculous, considering how bad they made me look! Even the Celine black frames I wear quite frequently; I parted ways with a fist of cash for those but I actually much prefer the collection of Lensway frames I have.
