Well, friends, I quite like May. It’s faithfully always been a month of transition for me, of much mental movement, of new ideas, of fresh starts, flinging open every drawer and cabinet, declaring the dosmetic war that is the once yearly ‘spring clean’… I like to prepare in May. The long, hot delicious summer always delivers a wealth of distractions : Ibiza island waters, daytime festivals, abandoning work early for a late afternoon on the sand, the burning desire to find onself in the South of France… and so on and so forth. I’ve kept my head buried in work all autumn, all winter long – only glancing up at the skies to assess WHEN. WHEN WILL SUMMER COME?! And so I do plan to take some time off this coming season, to pursue my creativity at whim, to travel in Europe as well as collect as many freckles and as much sand in my shoes as I possibly can. And so allow this gingham skirt, surely the most eponymous spring print, be a beckoning of what’s to come. You can bet you’ll see me in a bikini here far before it’s actually warm enough to swim. I’m a keen bean when it comes to summer.
