The kimono, it will always remind of Catherine Baba, one of my first style heroines. To my delight, I once watched her cruise down Saint Germain on a bicycle, kimono chaotically floating behind her. I remember looking around Cafe Flore to gauge if anyone else was as captivated, but it seems I was the only one that even noticed. The kimono is surely the aerial queen when it comes to clothing types and this season especially she seems to be a favourite. So with that said, I decided to style this beautiful one by Wallis in two very different ways, in hopes of inspiring you to consider one for yourself, especially for any upcoming vacations you might have planned. It’s an incredibly versatile summer layer, but also so light and easy to throw into a suitcase. ideal as a bikini cover-up, but can perfectly double up as a chic component to a more formal evening outfit. And since I plan to spend as much of summer either by the pool/beach or floating down to a rose-fuelled dinner, it seemed fitting to style the kimono for those two very occasions, which really are my favourite two pursuits in life ever.
