Biba and I headed to Plaza Espana early this morning, where she proceeded to eat a whole bunch of flowers, which then came right back up as I was having coffee at a place a little too chic to be tolerant of puppy vomit. It is funny how much of my daily life now revolves around this four pawed fluffy creature I adopted. I wouldn’t have it any other way, I have taken to social media in the same way a newly engaged woman does, shouting to the world of her love, only instead of a beau, it’s a pup I adore. And like all great love, I waited a long time for a dog. Ever since I left home, I have pined for a canine of my own, but never felt responsible enough. Fast forward almost 10 years and Biba is the best thing I have ever done, she trumps moving to Paris, breaking up with the bad men I’ve dated, she even beats starting this blog. Because animals quite simply make me giddy with happiness. And we should all bend and flex our lives in every way we can to make room for this kind of joy. I thank little Biba for reminding me of that and I hope you let her remind you too – find the things that bring you silly euphoria and clutch at them, fiercely. In life, this is all that matters. In fact, it is everything.
