Expensive shoes, I don’t have many. There are other things, surprisingly I prefer to spend my money on. Like books or gourmet dog food for Biba or ghastly expensive creams that promise to ease my always tired eyes or organic nuts and seeds. I could go on and on – but I won’t. Instead here I am in Paris wearing more money than usual on my feet, in the form of some Marni, a little bit of Nicholas Kirkwood and curiously, Crisian London. All in all, 3 designers I do love and ones I am happy to have in this collection of mine more traditionally known as a closet. I’ve actually been tempted to turn the chunkier heels here, specifically the Nicholas Kirkwoods into bookends – I so rarely wear them and think they would actually look better off my legs and between some books instead. I guess that temptation is a pretty accurate representation of where my preferences truly lie, I adore shoes, but books, those are my real treasures. If I could wear them on my body, you know I would. But I can’t, so some of my fancier shoes, today, they say hi.
