Sneakers, they are sort of a quiet love of mine. Ultimately, I like to be comfortable, hence the hideous lack of makeup I tend to wear offline (as well as on snapchat) or my stubborn refusal to strap on a bra most days. So it was an honour to slip my feet into a new brand love of mine, Meyba – creators of sneakers I can wear for a coffee date and then later to the gym too. I also feel compelled to tell you that Meyba was started way back in the 1940s right here in the city of Barcelona. They are old -school, wonderfully retro. You already know I am sucker for this. Anything that begun before I was born in 1988 is infinitely cooler. Precisely why I find so much of our culture today so disappointing. But that rant is for another day.

Discovering this city I live in also means scoping out brands that I can proudly showcase on Frassy, so often, we as women tend to wear the same old sneaker brands, ensloganed with logos that feel more familiar than our own faces. So here’s an alternative – and how to wear them? I always struggled with styling sneakers into outfits, I have quite athletic looking legs, so often a flat, chunky sports shoe made my outfits look like I’m headed to the running track rather than a meeting. I’d pair them with sporty ensembles and then feel frustrated when I looked like I was going do do just that, sports.  But when it comes to sneakers, stubbornness is crucial. Let me explain, throw on an outfit that you like, one that perhaps you might wear with pointed flats or heels and then instead, shove on some sneakers. Tenacity really is my preferred way of tackling my wardrobe. Tenacity and iced cold black coffee as fuel, these are the only fashion tips I can hopelessly offer you my loves.
