These are my colours this season, I suppose. Earth Tones. They are cosy and warm. Like caffe latte browns or ivy greens. They match my brown hair. They are all I seem to pack in the last minute suitcases I’ve been flinging across my shoulder as I dash for a taxi to the airport. I feel unsettled, in a strange way, so vague it’s practically pointless even expressing the emotion. I can’t describe it, how nonsensical. So colours in all their consistency, perhaps to those I am clinging. And the colours of autumn are always such pretty ones, like the leaves on the streets or my quickly fading summer tan. They blend together well on my body and beyond that too, the last signs of warmth as winter creeps back in. My dual city life is expensive, but you girls know me, rarely are my clothes. Too busy buying plane tickets back and forth, my clothes have to be modest in price, but that’s not to say I haven’t been frantically collecting all the autumn colours. I intend on acquiring the entire spectrum, from desert browns to caramel tans, sunset maroons and the leaf like greens in between. But perhaps I’ll slow down and instead start with these 3 basics I picked up from Forever 21. The blouse is actually a dress, which would look lovely paired with dark wash jeans. A skirt in a shape I have many of but in a new camel colour, with as many pleats as versatility.  As for the jacket? Deliciously close to felt but far fuzzier – and all those pockets? Perfect for losing things in to gleefully discover later. Like lipsticks or 20 euro notes. Don’t you love finding things you had forgotten? It practically feels like a present.
