You know, I’ve told you already, this PFW was a busy one for me. There was simply a lot. A lot of rain, an abundance of pastry as well as a good bunch of projects, including this collaboration with River Island. Shopstyle kindly opened The Sanctuary in Paris this season; a heavenly place where bloggers are invited to relax like they would at home between shows; a place with sofas to sink into, laptops to work from, all kinds of food and coffee on tap (my favourite aspect, obviously) as well as hair, makeup and nail services; precisely how I have this elaborate braid in my hair here. I could never ever achieve a hairstyle like this myself, precisely why you’ve never seen me with something so intricate styled a top my head before. There was also a loaning wardrobe, filled with River Island ensembles. So it was here, the two brands joined forces and threw weird me into the mix to run around the city in some pretty clothes I quite like, we even filmed a video.  Make sure you watch it (here)!  And seeing as my assistant has officially become my third arm, she got involved as well. It was such fun. Typically these sorts of collaborations leave me a little hesistant, I prefer to produce all content on my own terms and in a style that runs coherent with Frassy without a scary team telling me to act ‘more cool’. But Tim, the videographer, Rachael and everyone else who helped push this project along was amazing. So often at PFW I feel intimidated, shifting around wondering why everyone is staring at everyone else. Always convinced I have something on my face. Or that my hair is a mess. Or if only I had chosen a better outfit. But The Sanctuary was just that, a sanctuary and a lovely step away from the things that so often stress me out during Fashion Week. On another note, River Island has been on my ‘collaboration wishlist’ for a good few years so I am elated that the brand and I are finally friends in the way I knew we could be. I simply adore their clothes, a love that stems from way back when I was broke at University, happily blowing the little money I had on clothes at their shop in Durham. What an honour to work with them in Paris.
