In case you didn’t know Barcelona is incredibly close to Andorra, for years my brother has been trying to organize a skiing weekend, but organizing my family is legitimately like herding cats. We are sprinkled all over the world and with my parents separated, there is always that awkward ‘who to invite mom or dad’ scenario that my brothers and I comically loathe. Now I can already tell you, I know I will probably be terrible at skiing, in the same way I have totally failed at surfing or skateboarding, but that’s not to say I’m not going to give it a shot. Precisely why my brothers and I decided to embark on a trip by ourselves a little later this month. Now, I know I’m almost 30, but going away with my siblings without parental company still feels all kinds of grown up to me. I’m excited and hoping this officially certifies us as grown ups, a validation I have been searching for ever since I left home. Not knowing a damn thing about skiing but eager to learn, Superdry invited me to choose some of their Luxe Ski pieces for my trip, ideal considering if left to my own devices I probably would’ve chosen some terribly garish pink ensemble, which undeniably my brothers would have mocked. So I chose what I guess I’ll call a classic look for the pistes, a place I am entirely unfamiliar with so far but anything striped in breton feels like the safe option to me. And while I cannot give styling advice when it comes to skiing, I will say this, all these pieces are incredibly cosy, a comforting factor as I fear I’ll be face down in the snow every time I try to tackle a slope. And to really get inspired, Superdry launched a video (click here to watch it) to celebrate the collection, which above all, has gotten me childishly excited to shoot some photos in the snow.
