Festival season officially kicked off here in Barcelona last week, thousands of keen Europeans flooded into the city for the ever famous Primavera Sound. The sidewalks were buzzing with an enthusiasm untypical to this city, Catalans are a fairly sombre bunch and while they mourn the tourists, personally I find them a refreshing energy, another of the many reasons I adore summer. Tourists possess a happiness for wherever they are that we as residents usually lack, myself aside, I’m bouncing around in this weather! In a few weeks, Sonar will amp up, another celebrated festival here in the city, and so with the ambiance very much festival-centric, this lookbook felt fitting, geographically but also suited to my current prone to party mood. While economically Spain isn’t the best, it surely is a great place to party, this entire coast from north to south is an ongoing festivity come summer, we have islands too that flourished under the main goal of summer fun; Ibiza, Mallorca and so on. And so with that said, a few hours before dashing home to find my sexiest denim shorts for Primavera, we took to the beaches of Barcelona to shoot 8 pairs of festival perfect shoes. I’ve been an avid fan of Ego footwear since discovering them earlier this year, I wore my first pair, those black & brown fuzzy mules incessantly this spring, so it was absolutely an honour to collaborate on this project with the brand!
